I don't mean to point fingers, but Stu, for a while there, you were one of the foremost members in scolding people for street racing...
Sorry to everyone. I was only joking with Stu.

Josh, I am totally cool with pulls when the conditions are as safe as they can get on the street.
Dropping the clutch at 6K and hooking up is murder on your E30. Doing that stuff often will break parts so fast. Ask me how I know.
Parts of an E30 that get ravaged in a clutch drop:
-motor mounts
-tranny mounts
-guibo
-center support bearing
-driveshaft U-joints
-differential input flange
-differential side gears
-rear half-shafts
-rear subframe mounts
Not worth it.

last couple times i was at the track i couldnt launch any harder than 3 grand otherwize i would spin like crazy.
below 2500 dropping the clutch would just bog and get a terrible launch.
2750 launch was perfect for me, great hook-up. unfortunally after doing that 4 times i broke both motor and both tranny mounts... it sucked.98 M3/4/5
