Yea pretty soon the only used E30 parts you will find are on e30s people have bought and hid in their barns to scrounge off of. Everything else will have to be NEW parts!

Your new car is going to be a lemon, 1) thats a perfectly good shell for a 24 swap 2) Obamabot!
I just paid $1400 for a rusted out 325es that has been a Michigan car all its life, and it runs great. Your car looks pretty clean yet. I'd pay you $3500 for it. You darn Californians...
I was all for Obama, but this new clunkers program is quite nettlesome. There should be some kind of petition for a list of exceptions.

If i were him i'd have a shop quote me on replacing tranny, fixing AC, fixing exhaust. I doubt the rust is bad (and who cares about faded paint?). Then, i would compare that number to $10,000.
Yes, the program is a waste. And waste should not be accepted.

yeah, smog, that's an exhaust issue, right? If it's more involved than that, then i admit my ignorance. I'm from Michigan after all.
it's just been my observation lately that fixing a car that runs and drives is usually going to be cheaper. Plus you don't wind up with a Hyundai.
and i'm a huge e30 enthusiast, and like to see them saved, so please pardon my passion
