My credit is just fine, I'm saying I would rather drive a car with a soul than pay out the ass for a brand new econoPOS. And yes it is my prerogative, your post said everyone here would participate in the program if they could "make money" out of it.

Well, I paid $1200 and can get $4500, watch me not care.

Did you even read my post?

You said, flat out, given the same situation (cheap car that qualifies for CFC), everyone here would do the same thing, i.e. trade their shit in for a new car.

You guys do realize this Program went bankrupt right? They allocate another 2 Billion and still are extremely low on funds.

I understand the guys situation and I would probably do the same in his particular situation. I wouldn't do it with my car.

To they guy who posted about the program "jumpstarting the economy and helping the domestic automakers." You need to open your eyes, it does nothing of the sort whatsoever. Gallup reported that the 5 best selling cars under the program went to Toyota, Ford and Honda, domestic yes, but none of those companies accepted any government money and are NON-Union based. What about the BIG 3 Bailout controversy, how is the program affecting them? Well with GM occupying just under 10% of total sales under the program.......doesn't look like anything is going well there.

Who's paying for it? Every single one of us, our tax dollars provide the benefits, nothing else. so congrats we all just wasted our own money!!!

I'd rather buy a Hydundai over a Toyota but there's no way I'd think of cashing my car in for this. it's worth more than the $4500 they'll give you anyway (sort of puts a hole into your "everyone here would do it" theory).

Plus car payments blow no matter how you slice it.

still wouldn't do it. I would find another car that I could pay cash for, after I'd either sold or parted out the old car.

and if you don't have the money to buy a $3-5k car with cash you really have no business making a car payment.

                      1) I don't get why my friend's girlfriend's uncle had to destroy a 2006 BMW and a 2004 Lexus.. how are those worth less than $4500?

                      2) I wouldn't want a new car payment, regardless of what "great deal" you think you are getting with the cash for clunkers incentive.

apparently you're giving up your computer to the govt. or some shit like that when you agree to their policy... kinda scary if it is true even if you don't do anything illegal
