I've finally ended it. In case anyone is interested, I ended up taking the 2800 which is more than enough for the car, considering I'm getting it back anyway. So I promise I'll stop reviving this thread and finally let it die.

I sent her one final email:

    Dear Carly,

You win this round. This whole thing has been a gas but I no longer have the time or patience to deal with it anymore so I'll accept the money. I'll always remember the loving hours I spent trying to explain my side of the situation. I still think Metlife is super sketchy but I'm giving up for now. So help me God if I ever have to deal with you guys again. I will rain a storm of receipts and annoyance upon you the likes of which you have never seen. But of course I kid.

Anyway, I hope you've had as good a time as I have.

    Toodles,

    Bob

I had to deal with insurance for 2-3 months before I got any where, the body shop then tried to charge a $600 dollar storage fee for letting the car sit in the back lot with no hood on for 2 months. I got 3k for my car, and it took 3 months for me to do a 2 week fix, insurance companies are the worst.

Yeah, I know. They just weren't budging, plus I'm tired of the whole thing and tbh 2800 was probably all it was worth anyway.

I just want a new car.

Damn, that sucks. I don't know how anyone ever "accidentally" hits the gas when they mean to brake....
