as much as i have my problems with this program, it did very well for the us and its people. also its nice to see some of that huge stimulus bill actually being used.

Your on drugs. It did nothing for the American people. It was a big show that we are all going to pay for with our own money in "taxes".

Most dealers around my area have been pretty cool about techs taking parts from cfc cars. An e30 that was traded in looks like a junk yard car after the night shift got thier hands on it.

I wonder how an E30 meet the requirements? I asked a dealer just to ask if my e30 325i could be a clunker and he said no. He showed me on the computer that an e30 had to be 18 or less mpg stated by Government program. E30 showed they where getting about 20 mpg on an average. This person must have knew someone on the inside to make that deal or someone did not know what they were doing. That will come back to bit them in their azz. As for as getting parts......that is a money pile.

That's an odd dealer then. For most, it was just a gimmick to sell more cars and ruin more broke people's credit [even more]. 99% of dealers were taking anything and everything.

What rear bumper is that, or molded on addon?

I dunno, I have heard of a lot of dealers not taking cars from C4C if they dont qualify because thhe dealer would have to pay the money if it doesnt

My 325i Cab gets 19 MPG City and 26 MPG Highway, with an aftermarket chip.

My old 325es did even better, so how are E30's approved for CFC?

And it's still a bad idea.

The Repo guys will benefit though...

because the EPA came up with a magic formula that made all the ratings on older cars go down. the 318is is rated at 19 average, for example.. hah!

^^Yeah, all they had to do was fudge numbers, which is what they always do. Doesnt matter if they qualified or not cause the dealers are having a hard enough time getting money out of the government as it is. Who would have thought it was hard to get money out of a government program? Ha.....

The whole thing was a terrible idea, some good cars got crushed and i doubt it actually helped the economy, it just bought sales forward a bit.

...and despite it being a federal offense to tamper with the clunker cars once they've been traded in, short of draining the fluids. ( all dealers got a Govt memo telling them that ), i would have stripped any E30 clean if my buddy at the dealer had gotten any in, lol.

First off its "you're" and second... are you fucking blind? If this guy is saying that alot of US workers in his town get their jobs back, how is that doing nothing for american people? Perhaps we have to pay for it in taxes, but if more people are employed then we have to fund unemployment less. Funny how that works out huh?
