Going for about $60k here. Then again, an M3 costs $75k, and a 645Ci goes for about $90k.. just so you get an idea about insane costs down here for a new Bimmer :(1988 325iC - "Betty" - Daily Driver/Project Car.

It all works out for you though, it's not like Panama real estate is expensive. An ugly, 1 story house that hasn't been worked on since the 70s now goes for $1mil+ in Boston suburbs.Originally posted by PanamaE30Going for about $60k here. Anyone know what '05 535d tourings go for? Lots of space, good mileage and 413ft. lbs of torque sound like a good combo to me.Comment

Well that's true.. for the most part.
Then again, minimum wage here is like $1.50 or something.. so if you look at a $60k car in a country where like 85% of the population doesn't make US minimum wage.. eh, yeah, there's a slight unbalance.
And you'd be surprised, real estate prices have been rising here.. My old house, which was built in the late 40's, but well maintained, was going for $140k in auction when the government was selling it after the canal's reversion. And that's half a friggin duplex.1988 325iC - "Betty" - Daily Driver/Project Car.

I was referring to the 74-77 2.7 engines. I belive they were VW/Audi influenced junk, but I'm not 100% sure.Originally posted by Robthe SCs are among the most reliable of the air cooled 911s
The 78+ SC's had 3.0 until 83 when the 3.2 came out. These were fine.Comment

Do the '05 325/330xi's use xDrive? I thought only the X3/5 had that.
Even if they don't have kick-ass xDrive, it's still REAL awd. aka rear biased. None of this Haldex FWD-until-it-senses-slippage bullshit. At most, you'd get 50/50 power distribution. I much prefer what BMW, Lamborghini and some others do: 30-40%front/60-70% rearComment

Not sure, i thought all '05 models were getting xDrive...
now I have my doubts.
Oh well. Still, if I had the money I'd buy a 325xi, strip it, drop an S50, turbo the biaaaaatch and then go hunting ricers... that's gotta suck, there you are, in your riced out WRX shooting NOS at people then a friggin AWD bimmer pwns you at your own game..
BUAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Good luck mating the S50 to AWD. I thought it was illegal in most countries to put an older engine into a newer car? Maybe that's just somewhere in Europe.Originally posted by PanamaE30Still, if I had the money I'd buy a 325xi, strip it, drop an S50, turbo the biaaaaatch and then go hunting ricers...
I'd rather import a euro E34 525ix. Bore/stroke it to it's limits while using the original block and mounting. Then turbo the hell out of it. Now there's a sleeper.Comment
