I'll trade my e30 for an e30 M3 or Porsche. Or maybe something brand new so I can sell it and buy more e30's.
He doesn't want to trade for another 2dr, tard.

I'd trade my e30 for a clean Scirocco or Corrado. That's really about it.

If I were in your shoes: E28. Bigger, safer, yet have a similar old-school BMW feel about them.

if you got a kid on the way, do your family a favor and get something safer. no 20 year old bmw will be safe (ie E28 ). even the e36 won't compare to anything that's been produced within the last 5 years.

Out of first hand experience, don't you dare buy that f#cking POS 1.8t! Unless you like hefty repair bills every other month and getting stranded in the middle of no where.

I just paid mine off (02 GTI 18t) before I bought my e30 and have had to drop probably almost 10k into it. Turbos, wiring harnesses, ECUs, MAFs, the list goes on and on and on....

Sure, they are a ton of fun to drive, but that's it! never again will I waste my money on a VW.

Porsche, and in the end I'd just work harder so I could have both.

IMHO airbags are still not the end-all of "safety"

I dont see it as it sucks. there is a time when i need to be a man and provide, and other times i need to be a man and have fun, for the next four of five years, i want to be the man to provide for his family.

money pits will always be around.

                          Anyone else?

whats with all the gheyness in this place lately?

if you were a "man" and "providing" you wouldnt be in a situation where you have to sell your 500 dollar e30 to get another 500 dollar VW!
a jetta is really going to turn you into "The provider of the year!!!!"
buy what you want--- but you will regret it later-- unless it really has to do with A/C!

wtf???? e30s were new at one time too, and plenty of kids were transported around in them then too--- when my daughter was born I bought an e30 touring for the wife- had a 2.7, headers, slammed and 9x16" wheels-- my daughter is still alive.

                          just my 2 cents,
but keep your toys-- your kid is going to grow up no matter what car you have, but if you have a car that you don't like your not going to be happy.

my wife has had an e46 320d wagon for the last 7 years-- a good car-- but I hate to drive it-- got me a crapbox e30 to drive for ME!-- and the daughter wants to ride in IT most of the time.

when i was a child we were made to squeeze into miatas and e21's. ps i have 4 siblings. trust me, they will have a love for your car, and all those childhood memories. we had the e21 until the floor fell off

They aren't. Cars are safer these days because of beefed up structural members and structures front and rear that absorb a lot more energy that older cars.
