I'm still alive because my first car only had 140hp probably, and good brakes and handling.

Parents who give their kids Camaro SS's or M3's are asking for trouble.

140Hp is a lot of power, and on the rear wheels... WOUAAAAA

I agree whit you about Camaro's ans M3 ! Parents may be crazy.

But American make us (europeans) dream, youngs seem to have Camaro's, Mustangs, bimmers, Supra's... WHE DON'T HAVE IT, those are Very expansive cars, only rich people can have it.

But is it reality ? Are young americans really able to obtain those cars, or it is only few of yours ?

ps : i'am getting tired -> my english is getting worst

a mojority of young drivers get typical piece of shit cars. The minority seems more than that, simply because young people with nice cars have a larger internet presence than the masses with crap cars.

Camaros and Mustangs can be bought for less that $10,000 today, so they are pretty common among young Americans.

Bunta, those are pretty obtainable cars here if you have the right parents. I know of two kids who have brand new 2004 Mustang Mach 1. They are twin brothers, and each of them have one. Ones orange, ones red. The red one was totalled with my brother riding shotty. They lost control, and totalled it with only 2500 miles on the clock. Even the Orange one suffered damage one time. He inconveniently parked it under the landing of a dirtbike jump. Someone hit the jump and landed the bike on the front end of the car, ripped the front fascia off and dented the bumper. My other friend has a 1996 Mustang GT. His brother has a 1995 Camaro Z28 which was basically totalled 2 days ago. A kid that turned 18 my former High School got a 2005 Corvette. It just goes to show that in America, all things are possible, but you dont necessarily want to give your kids that powerful/expensive of cars.

              My observations:

Stock, clean E30 = Just another older car
Stock, run down E30 = Just another beater P.O.S.
Modified (even if only lowered + wheels) E30 = Retro cool ride in the same vein as Datsun 510s can be.

Having drivers of other cars view E30s as just another old car isn't nearly as annoying as having the vast majority of E30 owners view them that way...

I don't think of e30's as being cool enough to be retro cool - e21? maby. 2002's? defiently

I always get the feeling in when I'm in LA that it doesn't matter what BMW you drive - it's could be the hottest thing ever - if it's more then 6 months old, you're a looser.

If you don't have a girlfriend and are trying to get one driving around an E30, you might want to invest in a different "bitch-magnet". Maybe get a penis pump or work out to make up for it. Sorry, I had to. That's the impression I get from dumb hoes around here.
I retired my E30 for now...

it depends on what you 're doing with your car.
for a 1/4 mile it is surely few power, but on the road it is soon enough.
