I think the reason why it threw the rod because I was trying to get it home.

It was starting to act funny but I was 15miles from home so I slowly tried to made it home. I made it 7 or so miles then it finally gave up.

The only reason i tried to make it home was i stopped my friends house and his neighbor is a mechanic and he said it was a broken rocker arm and said i could make it home.
At least I now know the cause of it.
