My sentiments exactly. Even though the e46 is a SUBSTANTIALLY heavier car, it has SUBSTANTIALLY larger tires, and a wider stance. Not to mention, the e46 has much larger brakes and much, much, much more power.

So....the e30 M3 in the hands of a good driver is more capable than an e46 M3 in the hands of a shitty driver?

For me, you can't compare the E30 M3 to anything. Of course there are faster and cheaper cars out there, that isn't what it is about.
