$40K= Evo II, $50K= Sport Evolution, plus $10-$15K for shipping an DOT legalization to get it to the States. $30K is about the most I've seen US models go for, they sold for $34K+ new.

Low mileage should catch that price, but with the minimal mods he has done, it negates the high price he's asking. 'Plus its a liiiiiitle too high even if it was all original.

still, i think it will be very hard for that car to sell at that price.
Tony that car was at Ofest this year. Johann did the interior, I think Lewis said he had 10k in it.

I'm going to keep my mouth shut. There are a few responses on here that are obviously ignorant and uneducated. Mostly made by people that believe what they read on the internet bandwagon and not what is actual fact. Those people belong with the d-bags commenting on that original link, not on here.

That car is fairly close to what its worth.

BTW, no one cares what else you COULD buy for that same price. The cars you compare it to are mass produced and will depreciate to sub $20k levels in less than 5 years. That argument is played out. Show me another BMW that has appreciated in value since it was made??? Didn't think so, that price is justified but maybe about $5k to high. That interior is ridiculous (in a good way) and worth every penny. And id roll cloth over leather ANY day of the week.

I understand that the e30 M3 is desirable because it is rare and lightweight and good-looking, but $39k?

Here's a list of some other nice things $39k can buy you in the used car market.

                  1) C6 Corvette Z06 or a really low miles base C6
                  2) 996 Porsche 911
                  3) Mk IV Toyota Supra Turbo with really low miles
                  4) E46 M3 with really low miles, and about $10k in change.
                  5) E39 M5 with really low miles, and about $8k in change

                  or....to re-iterate....you could buy a boxy 21 year old car with 200hp.
                  Provenance. The E30 M3 has it ;)

that is very pristine and all, but for that amount of money, i'd rather go any buy an e46 m3 with cash to spare...

Oh those cars are cool! You could even buy a sweet Dodge SRT4 and have tons of money left over for modz. Those cars aren't boxy at all and they have more power, I don't know who in their right mind would want a 21 year old boxy (wtf, really?) car with 200hp.

the responses in this thread make it clear who the real e30 lovers are versus the people who just happen own one now. if you dont "get it" you never will.

Crazy how the cost of E46 M3's has tanked so severly...

Where are the stickers? Roll those fenders! Drop it! Slam it! Where are the uber-glare HID bulbs and led tails (clears all around, of course). No waaaay this is worth $39k when you can get a Vette or a Poncho (from the 80s, too) for that.

I think the price is slightly high but not unreasonable. That is a pristine car, few examples like that. The only thing that would stop me from buying that would be a less pristine M3, so that I could actually drive it and not worry about rock chips and thrashing it a bit. Yes I would rather have a 21 year old, 200hp box so that when I catch your little SMG E46 in the mountain corners and blow by it on the outside turn I can completely humiliate you. Momentum cars are FTW!
