some vdubs are ok, usually only the boosted ones, thats the only win factor they have over the whole bucket of fail.

Meh. I'm selling my Mk2 golf to buy another E30 anyway.

The only huge thing I hate about vw is the fwd. No matter what you do to them, they are still fwd. Most of the time.

I know, myself and a couple of friends tried it, and it took two days of solid work to get it on.

I can do shocks/struts and springs on any MK4 based car in 45 minutes all by myself.

If you think I'm full of shit ask Jean.

It would take a bit longer and I'd have to lay out the specific tools ahead of time, but I bet I could. I did the suspensions on all the local guys MK4s in the VW club. They got to be so easy after the 5th one.

I like this comment. Nice. What the fuck was he thinking though? Yeah, front-engine front-drive cars need more weight up front to help with traction... :drink:

                    Holy old thread, Batman!

I love air cooled v-dubs, so easy to work on. They cam before the whole "how much can the dealer charge you to work on your car" era.

If you guys think some of this stuff is whacked, change a clutch on a late model m5 with garage tools, time a DOHC v engine with vice-grips, or the best one in the world, ever to attempt to be a dealer-only serviceable - Cadillac North Star V8's have the starter under the freaking intake manifold, WTF?

HAHA. How many suspensions have we done on the 1.8t I had ? Fuck... I still remember that Shine Racing kit EL O EL.

I don't know, nothing on it was complicated... e39 540i front suspension was WORSE IIRC.

                        Shit, E30 suspension is worse.

I had a mk4 for 3 years, and did the suspension a few times.

I would rather put shocks/springs/coilovers in a VW than an E30.

I would still waaaaay rather drive an E30 though.

Snub mounts are on Audis and Passats only, and they are ghey.

And I bumped this thread last week on accident.
