the reason they don't work is because the opening time of high-z injectors is vastly different. you can physically drive high-z injectors with low-z hardware but it completely fucks the stock tune. On the other hand, putting low-z injectors into a car designed for high-z results in a fried computer.

semi-related question to the experts:
impedance set aside, can an ECU adjust itself to handle different injector flow rates at all? i guess it doesn't really have any way of knowing unless there was a return signal from the injectors back to the ECU.Comment

there is limited feedback from the O2 sensor which it can use to trim back the injector pulse - to a point. But once you max out the injector trim that's all you get. you can't stick like 42# injectors in there and expect it to work, it's going to choke. aside from that narrowband sensors are really only accurate at 14.7:1, the further you get from that point the less effective closed loop EGO is at correcting your PW.Comment
