Ohhh i have the best by far. My po ran the car off the road, damaging the pass. fender well and rusted to the point of fist sized holes, broke the oil pan, had no maitanence history of the car what so ever, took out all of the audio, ripped up front seats to hell, no tools in toolbox, front valence bent to hell and busted fog light, broken oil cooler mount point, and damaged the pass. side suspension which had extreme camber. Than he drove all the way from macon to deliver the car to me(1 hr at least) and i realized it had a broken oil pan and i was like, are you fukin stoopid or something. I was suprized the cars motor didnt blow. Long story short the guy didnt have any info on the car but drove ALL the way down here where had to buy the car. 5 gs later out of my pocket and now its almost decent. The paint was good though :]

So, basically what you're saying is....you got a great deal on a great shape e30?

on my 86 325e (now long sold):

Windshield washer bottle filled with coolant. PO used windshield washers and damaged paint on the hood and roof.

Guibo was missing half of the bolts and nuts. Other half were rounded off.

              CSB was hanging down.

Transmission was almost dry of gear oil.

Oil had leak detector in it, but didn't leak.

U-joints in the driveshaft were shot.

Left rear wheel bearing was shot.

He broke the key off in the driver door, took the lock cylinder apart and couldn't figure out how to put it back.

              Broke the glove box handle.

Cut wires for abs sensor and brake wear sensor.

Dented the front right fender with a bicycle because it "looked cool".

              Current 86 325es:

Primed hood of the car, didn't sand it and looks like ass.

Put a large amount of bondo on a door ding that is otherwise hardly noticeable on the driver quarter panel.

Put driver side seat in on the passenger side and didn't swap the seat belt around.

Never cleaned air filter after installing K&N - it was clogged solid.

Used electrical tape to fix a vacuum leak from the icv hose going to the intake boot.

Cut stock shifter down to almost a nub and stuck a crappy universal knob on it.

Ripped shift boot to accommodate crappy knob.

Thats all I've found so far.

P.O. took great care of mine. Only complaint is he didn't let me keep his Alpina wheels.

well, now onto my second e30

                    Mostly clean, but some niggles

Reused head bolts on a head gasket job
                    installed thermostat backwards
jb-welded the hose bung on the overflow bottle back on
Tried to buff out the paint with a blowtorch (or so it looks)
                    overspray everywhere
                    tigerstripes in the respray
Paint so thick it will prolly need 300 gal of stripper to get it off

                    The list will grow again...
I saved 15% on my Bimmer parts by switching to ...

found out why my womans 89 didn't have power steering.
I knew it didn't have a belt on the pump when I bought it.

What I didn't know (Because I didn't look that hard) is that they installed the belt tensioner cog backwards, and couldn't tighten the belt because of it.

Her car now has power steering. with 10 minutes of work.
And the belt tightens no problems...

Forgot to securely bolt the front bumper cover on after a minor accident. It subsequently fell off and was run over.

                        Valve cover bolts stripped.

Pretty hacked up gauge cluster in an attempt to fix the odometer

Stereo wiring was an absolute nightmare.

AC belt not there. Although could be cause of a damaged compressor. Haven't checked.

Let the paint fade horribly, thankfully I remedied that.

this thread makes me feel better about my car. All I can complain about is an unmounted HAI just flopping around in the engine bay that I kind of secured with some wire, and the horrible rattle-can paint job you see below, and those stupid upward angled exhaust tips that are obnoxiously loud and are burning the rubber off of the rear bumper.

paint the rear window with black spray paint ( vert ) gay stickers on window and front lip.

he did , however tuck the bumpers , and paint the needles red on the cluster.
