Help to pimp a e46 330i (wheels, exhaust, paint color, BBK , suspension)

Hey guys,

need some input/suggestions for a friend's /customer 330i M package 04' model year . It's absolutly stock and my friend asked me to provide for his car the following items:

• Wheels
• Suspension (although, down here with potholes, cracked roads, etc I might suggest him to not do the suspension)
• Exhaust (A nice catback, maybe with end tailpipe tips engravved with HAMMAN/ AC Schnitzer, etc logo)
• BBK, not for race but for full street use, a nice big calipers would do the trick (he doens't track the car)

And lastly, a change of color that I will provide it. He want a blue color. Already thinking of the Le Mans Blue, maybe Avus Blue, other choices?

Well, if you have pcitures/info that can provide, please throw all them in this thread to get the most options in mind and decide what to do.

if you aren't going to do suspension, then just get some lower-offset wheels from a 5-series to fill out the fenders a little.

with that said i say add boost to the list :eeps:

as for the mods it depends on his budget,

DPE's are always great rims not over the top like HRE's cost wise but the same time much much nicer then the usual CSL/LM/whatever reps most people do. otherwise i say go BBS forged love me some RGR action

coils i stand by KW's, GC's and AST's

brakes i vote for Stoptech as they're more cost effective then brembo otherwise he can just do rotora's

exhausts are always subjective what sounds awesome to one can be monotonous to the other...have him youtube some e46 set ups and decide how he wants to go from there...in my experience i usually suggest go custom it allows more workability plus since your going to a muffler shop anyways to get the work done most time's you can usually work out a decent deal. friend of mine paid about 150 for a functional quad set up

I'm looking at the VMR and DPE wheels of a good choice, would like to stick with 18' size due the huge potholes down here.

As far for the brakes, the car is street primarily (not track) so I'm not sure what front rotor size would be optimal upon depending on wheel size, but let's say the min size would be 18" and max 19" rim.

Does Stop Tech offer rear kit as well?

1. 18's not 19's look best on a e46.
2. SC over turbo on a e46. Turbos just dont work as well.
3. CSL rep wheels seem to over all look the best on e46
4. Exhaust is depending on what you want. Louder = Magnaflow or Billy Boat; Subtle = Remus or something else German
5. What color is the car now? Why blue? I would never go a drastically different color on a e46 b/c IM told they are too hard to get good coverage. Im no painter, but I can see what my painter friend means by that.
6. Brakes. Wilwood, Brembo a couple of e46fanatics.com sponsors make some reliable BBKs'. I'd check there.

CSL wheels are tits. BMW knew what they were doing when they combined BBS looks with BMW quality. Aim for the real ones though, from a comp M3.

Why would he want a BBK if he doesn't track his car? Are his existing breaks not sufficient to engage abs? Does he experience brake fade from stop light to stop light? Give him a good set of pads and send him on his way...
