$160 for an optima red top about 5 years ago was one of the best purchases I've ever made, car related or not.

They're made in fucking mexico!!! Last time I checked shit from mexico lacked quality. Points at friends mark 4 jetta.

After reading recent reviews of red tops, they seem to have dropped quite a bit in quality. I spent 200 dollars on control arm bushings but I just can't justify dropping 200 dollars on a damn battery.

I have a duralast in my truck that hasn't given me any problems for years and I just put another one in my e30. I had a bosch battery in the e30 and it was just a POS. Lasted maybe a year, even with the warranty it wasn't worth it.

Not all batteries are created equal. You want cheap you usually get cheap.

We sell Deka(Called Guardian, made by Deka) battery's at my work. Its like $80 for a battery with a 5 year -pro-ration warranty.

Ive had the same battery in my Corolla since it was purchased in 03.

Try any local Lowrider clubs in your area, they'll have a supplier for dirt cheap good quality batteries.
I have lots of cars and always need batteries, the lowrider guys always come through for me.
