where do they hide it then...guess i gotta take down that whole upper part? I prob didnt look hard enough. How do you take off the upper part? Is it those screws to hold the visors in? And it comes from the drivers side? I only looked in that lil section behind the check lights

Yeah, so I am doing this at the moment. Guess what? Pulled to the side, and the bracket that the mirror clips to came out. Hooray.

I'm thinking that I'm probably going to drill out the holes in the sheet metal and drill out the rivets themselves and use actual screws to mount it.

However even with the stupid mirror and bracket OFF of the goddamn car, I am having a hell of a time getting the fucking bracket loose from the mirror. Good lord did they design this poorly.

You've just got to break the ball free from the socket (no homo). I've found the easiest way to do this is just by "overadjusting" the mirror. Since it's out of the car, you'll have to swivel the bracket until it doesn't want to go any more, and keep going. You won't break the mirror, it will just pop free.

On the lighted mirrors, though, there is wiring that goes through the ball joint and there is also a different mirror stalk that has some sort of adjuster on it.

Dude, same thing happened to me. I drilled them out and mounted with screws. Good as new.

I know this simple fact noob. I have it hooked up to the correct wires. just had to do some funny business to get it wired to back of mirror.

if you wire it correctly an leave the map light on. when you turn off key. it turns off as to not kill battery

I honestly don't remember, they were regular old hex head screws from Home Depot.
