injector clip in cylinder... any ideas?

So i took my intake manifold off of my m20 the other day, to get to some heater core stuff. Well to day i was replacing some hoses, when i noticed one of my fuel injector clips was resting right on the open intake valve of cylinder 4. So i carefully took a screw driver to try to take it out and... well i guess you guys can probably figure out what happened... any ideas on how to get it out?

I don't think it's magnetic, so right now, it looks like my only option is to buy a new head gasket/studs, intake and exhaust mani gaskets, and a new timing belt.

If you mean the "c" clip that holds the injector to the rail, then yes, it is magnetic. just use a telescoping small headed magnet. Go buy the right tool though, don't rig some makeshift crap.

Take out the spark plug, and use a flex magnet.

i don't think the clip will fit through a spark plug hole

No, but when you get it close, to grab it with a pair of long needle nose pliers. Then you bend it back into place after you yanked the shit out of it. Those other magnets won't fit in past the valve either. You need something smaller than those. Thus, the pic of tool I posted.

You laugh but used to have to do this on old VWs, they had a brass accel piss tube that was press fit in the carb that would pop out sometimes and get sucked in.

If a car came in sounding like it had a rod knock and the tube was missing my boss would come over and r3v the piss out of it till it spit it out. Had one come in that had a missing piss tube but it was a rod knock that windowed the case...
