New tire design with built in camber.

I would have to think this has already been tried with as much time and money that companies like Michelin and Bridgestone spend on tire development. I don't know if they will actually work, but it's cool to see someone try a new approach.

I've read about those but I don't think I understand their philosophy.

I came across an add in popular science and it was claiming that they increased performance and tire wear.

My understanding is that if you improve wear(by reducing the camber angle) then as far as the tire is concerned your back down to Zero camber and your going to overload the outside edge of the tire during cornering.

            From the Video
"I can honestly tell you that every single area of performance has gotten bigger and there have been no falloffs or drop-offs whatsoever in any areas."

            Smells like total BS.

I'd wait until there is some actual data before spending any money.

no offence but whenever someone from america claims to have made something more efficient than euro/jap offerings i am quite doubtful :p. effectiveness thats a different issue

I laugh at claiming toe out improved the handling, when in reality they had to to compensate for the tread rollover due to the different side wall heights. Just another thought, how about setting camber to 0 and purchasing regular tires, instead of having -2 on your wheel and 0 on the tire.

Has this guy ever seen a camber v. thrust curve? are you fucking kidding me?
You'd have to completely redesign the suspension system.

I am right there with you but they also claim that you can run toe-out with little consequences because of the conicity integral to the tire. That might have some merit, it's kind of hard to think about though.

Plus it'll be great for the douchebags who want like 8 degrees of camber because they think it looks cool.

I know what you mean. We really don't have the credentials as a creative or inventive country. I was skeptical of telephones, light bulbs, AC/DC electricity, refrigeration, vulcanized rubber, transistors, toilet paper, assembly lines, computers, internet, nuclear energy, solar panels, airplanes, teflon, carbon fiber, GPS, etcetera. We're just a bunch of dumb hicks.

Didn't BFG do this with the R1 back in the 80's? Maybe even Yokoyomama with the A008RS?

                            Hmm
