    Seat Belt Buckle Question?

My front inside passenger seat belt buckle don't catch unless you wiggle or push the buckle in at an angel, then it buckles.
If you look inside the seat clip, you can see the metal clip thing staying down. The drivers side is not this way and it works fine.
Question? Is this buckle trash or can it be fixed?

I had that problem, there was a piece of plastic that had broken off and was jamming it up. I opened it up and took out the broken piece and it worked for a little while and then it would inconsistantly latch or not latch. Sometimes taking like 3 tries. So I went to the junkyard and grabbed a few out of an e28 as well as a e32. They all worked well and I ended up using the a matching set of e28 ones. Hope that helps.

archie, i think you should just plan a list of thigns to do for ur e30 and go to a junkyard and start looking for parts. I got a seat belt buckle for 5 bucks at a pick n pull when mine was damage.

No need to steal it, just put it in your pocket and walk out...anything that discreetly fits in your pocket is free ;)

I believe they're referred to as pocket parts

i just changed mine out yesterday for a working one bought from a fellow r3v'er. old one went right in the trash...oh and jamming one of those in your pocket might elicit some odd looks...it's longer than it looks *cough*thatwhatshesaid*cough*

i have opened up a buckle for an E36. after we fixed what was wrong with it, the outer case whould not clip back together. it looked as though it was glued shut from the factory. i guess we just got lucky while prying it open.

to make it easy on yourself, try to find one in good shape at a junk yard or order one online.

they are ~$40 new at a dealership.

cheap insurance for something that will save your life in a car crash.
