My e28 will murder my e30 alpina 2.7. Never under estimate the power of a proper built M30 engine. My e28 now as is has that much power and torque, it's hard to keep it straight with the 9.5inch Alpina wheels and thats with new tyres. They're a magnificent car! God bless them.

170hp and 25mpg is pretty decent. if you want to bitch about it. go ahead. no one really cares.
so what if a corvette, 400hp, gets 29mpg on the highway. and yes, they are more fun to drive. and if you think that is so great. go buy one and quit complaining.
if i could only have 1 car, i'd pick an e30 over a vette. over a much larger picture, that includes fun, mpg, practicality, cost of maintenance, insurance, etc., the e30 is a better car for me to own.AWD > RWDComment

ive owned both,i prefer the looks of an e30 only slightly more, but the e28 feels better to drive and is more fun. I will say the e30 did handle better but not my much, you can just tell that the m30 is a better motor, drive each and decide for yourself.Comment

having owned 3 e28's and 3 e30's (all at the same time), i prefer the e28. i love the way it handles. i know it doesn't handle like an e30, but it will still surprise the hell out of most people who just see "some old bmw". i am a pretty big guy, so i like having a little more interior room also.
and, like some people said, the 528e will never die. at least, not so long as you do timing belts and oil changes.Originally posted by BillBraskyThat's like Vlad challenging Chip Foose to a car painting contest.Originally posted by acolella76i'm pretty sure 'Phillis' is short for syphilis

I drove an auto M30B34 e28 and it was a blast! Cornering, rolling exit ramps @ 70+ on worn out suspension that still felt like it turned on rails. Everyone always gave me shit until I gave them a ride down some back roads in my old person's car.
....then I swapped in a B35 w/5sp & M5 f/w and clutch. Now it's just fast everywhere.:twisted:1974.5 Jensen Healey : 2003 330i/5Comment
