    You are against Geico for being against stupid fucks like a lot of the kids on this site that do retarded things on the street? Why? Maybe if they all get busted our rates will go down.

        :rofl: :rofl: :nice:

        if parents dont know their kids are racing when they have "fast and furious" style cars, then they are probably too stupid to know how to read that newsletter from their crappy insurance company...

        when in was in my teens, and i had my nissan with body kit and turbo/exhaust upgrades, im sure my parents knew what i was doing on fri/sat nites, and they would probably be sittin up awake in bed till i got home. If i were a parent, i would take this little letter as an insult to my intelligence...

          If i've heard it once, i've heard it way too many times...there's a place for hard 'spirited' driving, and it's not the street. Think that's all that needs to be said.

          BTW, Geico has some excellent commericals.

                I always thought my sister just sucked at driving and couldnt park her honda, but now that I read that article and see the picture of that "racer" I know what she's been upto........
                I agree with the comment that that article is an insult to a parents intelligence, believe it or not, parents were kids once too.

                  It is a business article to raise profits. They are simply attempting to get out of paying claims. OH, LOOK, Tj's wrecked e30 has a K&N filter ......guess he was racing ....sorry, can't pay your claim even though you've been paying your premiums every month.

                    Seriously agreed. Also, that article is going to do nothing but set in an even broader stereotype for anybody under the age of 24. If you're young and you have a "souped-up" car, this kind of stuff just makes everyone give you an even harder time than you already have.

                      Because it is profiling.

                      Suppose you are a young driver who auto-xes your car. You have springs, +2 wheels, heavier sways, etc. Your "mods" actually make your car safer for the street by giving you better handling. You don't speed excessively or street race.

                      Then, one day, a drunk driver goes cruising down your street and hits your parked car. Police show up, drunk driver is uninsured. You call your insurance company (Geico) so they can come file a claim against the guy.

                      Geico comes out and takes a look. You notcie the adjuster making a lot of notes about your "mods". You get a check a few months later for your car damages... along with a letter that says Geico is either A: dropping you or B. Tripling your rates, due to "uncovered modifications" on your car. Just one of many examples.

                      Geico has been pulling crap like this for over 20 years. In the '80s and '90s, Car and Driver ran an expose on Geico in which they uncovered the millions millions Geico was giving to lobbyist that were trying to get radar detectors made illegal.

                      No radar detectors = more tickets = higher insurance rates = more $$$ for Geico.

                      They also were in the habit of canceling the policies of people that had clean records w/ no accidents for 20+ years, because statistically those people were more likely to have an accident soon. After all, if you have been collecting $$$ from someone for 20 years and haven't paid a dime back, you need to get out while the gettins' good.

                      In 1990, I called Geico for a rate. They asked me if I had a radar detector. I truthfully told them "yes", even though the detector was inoperative. They told me they would not insure because of this - even though I had no accidents, no tickets.

                      Geico = teh lose.
