I use 2nd gear so if myself or somebody has a brain fart and forgets to push the clutch in when starting it doesn't lurch forward at all or as much as it would in 1st. Also, I have never had a sticky parking brake, probably because I use it every single day. Plus, I drive my auto E34 everyday so I have on rare occasion caught myself nearly starting without taking it out of gear.
