Well my car got broken into

Woke up yesterday (sunday) got ready to go to la for a family bbq, and went out to my car to grab my glasses and cd's. My passenger side window was totally smashed in. My 1 week old alpine cda-9847 was ripped out with all the wires cut *couldn't have just unplugged the harness* my oakleys were stolen, my glove box was ripped open and my cd case *full of original cd's, not burned copies* was stolen, my giga spencer air freshner was taken, I had $30 in my ash tray, along with my custom coin holder, that was taken too.

I'm so fucking pissed off. So I call our apartment security, they had no reports, the driver didn't even see the smashed window and call us in the morning, I found out at 1:30pm. I called and left a message with the apartments about it. Called the police, they took a report over the phone said that there have been 67000 incidents this month and they'll call me if they find anything. No examination of the car from them. So I call my insurance company, who then tells me that they don't cover theft so there is no point in filing a claim to make my rates go up.

Basicly now, I'm out one window, about 30 original cd's, a $200 pair of sunglasses, a brand new $200 alpine deck, and about $40 in cash/change.

    woohoo me.

this is why I own a cheap MP3 deck and leave absolutely nothing of value in my car (and burned CDs).

Shit I have the same alpine deck, but that's about the only thing of value on/in my car.

Serves you right for laying shit out in the open where people will be even more interested in it.

thats a shitty comment to make. yes it might have been better had he not had all of that stuff in his car, but it is HIS car.

the only thing remotely visible was my glasses, hidden below the air freshner. I always make a point to put stuff on top of it so that they are not visible. The cd's were in my glove box. I also think they stole my bmw sweatshirt from work, which we don't sell anymore.

                    just a fucking huge inconvience.

Yeah he wins "the douchenozzle of the week" award. I try not to leave anything visible but unless you duct tape over your stereo its hard to hide everything. It sucks your insurance is being a dickhole but with most deductibles it wouldnt do you much good unless the damage was in the thousands.

IIRC homeowners covers loose things like CDs and shit.

                          What year is your car?

If its the earlier style window regulators, I have a window if you need it.

That's gay. I leave nothing visible in my car, but I have an $800 Eclipse headunit that does not have a detachable face. It has always scared me that it would get stolen.

Digitalwave, I highly suggest you invest in one of these. It's a very good and reliable theft intervention tool. Here's the link.
