    Would you? trading cars.

Alright so I may have the opportunity to trade cars with my buddy. Currently I have a 1991 318is, lowered, entire car resprayed, redone interior, sound system the one in my signature. I also have a 1990 325i four door. Just under went a fairly major overhaul. From the timig belt to the, head gasket, clutch job, brakes, and countless gaskets. This car is stock no modifying.

Now the other car is a 2002 BMW M3 I have ALWAYS wanted one of these cars I have driven his car multiple times and loved every second of it. It is bone stock with 72,000 miles. Vehicle is pretty well maintained but not perfectly such as trans fluid and diff fluid. It is a 6 speed, coupe, no competition package or nav.

The deal would be me trading him both of my cars plus about $1,500 for some additional mods he wants to do to my e30's.

So my question is would you guys take this deal if it was your decision.

I kinda figured I might miss the nimbleness of the e30. The only thing is the m3 is so much more planted and sure footed on the highway. Also just driving around the car just seems that it wants to be set free and run fast and hard. But I am guessing those emotions will fade with time.

I would, but no cash. Straight trade, keep your $1500 and go buy another E30 with it. But he probably wouldn't do the trade without the money from your end.

sounds like a financially sound deal, but not a logically sound deal. you will want another e30 at some point, so why not keep a nice one that you already have?

^my ideal situation would be trading him my 325i for his m3 but no way in hell would he ever accept that. Even with some cash. Thanks for all the quick replies. This is going to be a tough one.

If you are wondering why I am considering this trade I have had my 318is for 6 years now and my 325 for about 18 months I am just getting kinda bored with e30's. Don't get me wrong I still love them I just kinda want something different, and something that has the ability to scare the shit out of myself when I want to.

Sounds like you're just in a state of relief from driving a car that is quiet, fast, comfortable, waffleswaffleswaffleswaffleswaffles-magnetic, and updated.
You'll love it for the time being, but considering you're the owner of 2 E30's, you'll want one back again.

Trade get the e46 then sell the e46 for like at least 18k
                              Then buy an e30 m3 and a e30 wagon or mtech e30 ;)
