These pistons were built exactly to customer specs. Even if the customer didn't know what he was spec'ing.

i just called and hung up on Steve. yeah i hung up on him, don't want to talk to him, just wanted to see who answered.

so what, you're saying the OP gave them the wrong SPECS?
    thread just took a U-TURN.

Here's the thing - even if that's true, why is he stonewalling his customer? Why won't he respond to phone calls or emails and say "hey - your specs must have been wrong. sorry about that, but there's nothing we can do". Or offer a solution that benefits both parties.

Instead it looks really bad on TEP's part because they are totally ignoring him. Every customer he loses because of this thread has to cost far more than one set of pistons.

In a nutshell, if the OP really wanted his money back all he would have to do is file with the credit card company. If there was any ACTUAL wrong doing his money would be refunded.

All you have to do to talk to Steve Nelson is call Top End Performance which the OP has done and was given a straight answer. Instead he shows us all the emails he has sent.

^^^ If this is true all the people that stirred all that internet shit up about Steve own him a sincere apology. Its hard enough to run a business these days.

                what did you say ?

i'v ordered pistons with precise specs

                89.6mm pistons
                135mm rods
                85mm bore

what is wrong in thoses specs ? i don't know what i'm ordering ?

pistons are protuding too much, the compression height is wrong, a simple calcul can show it, they are not for the 89.6mm stroke.

Just to be clear. I have NO DOG IN THIS FIGHT.

I called TE today to PRANK CALL THEM ON YOUR BEHALF. I got a very different response from Steve than what I expected and that is why I am posting now.

Steve could come on here and post the specs you sent him and you could do the same but in the age of PHOTOSHOP you both could be lying.

If you want your money back go threw the correct channels ie VISA or MASTERCARD not bullshitting on here saying no one has attempted or will talk to you at TE.

I never said or meant to imply that you were lying just that there were two sides to this story.

And in the age of everything being "made in china" I'm just trying to look out for an AMERICAN manufacture.

Before you go and start calling people a liar and wrong you better make sure your 200% in the right.

Your missing specs also. What pin height did you order? What's the deck height on the block? Those two measurements are the most important when ordering custom pistons and determine the height of the piston in the bore.

I've known Steve Nelson for over 10 years and have bought thousands of dollars in parts from him and never had an issue.

I asked him did you need more measurement or specs and he responded i know exactly how to make these for you. The piston compression height looks good for a 86mm crank, not for the 89.6mm. Wrong copy/paste specs, everyone can make a mistake... No answer , no apologies, nothing ! Im not bullshitting, remember im 1200$ lighter now, for nothing. I m just saying : guys, beware of top end performance.

It sounds like there are 3 sets of mesurements required.
                              1. What was ordered
                              2. What was actually shipped
                              3. What is actually required to complete the project

We know where that the current set up doesn't work. What remains to be found out if the parts physically measure up to what was ordered.
