    E30 Daytime Running Lights?

Hey everyone, forgive me if this is a repost and if I posted in wrong location;).. Anyways I have a 1990 Canadian Spec 325i, everytime I turn my car on all lights come on :hitler: I know its the DRL but is there anyway to locate the rely that controls this?! I've search and searched but only find info on the e36's and z3's.. Some sites say its as easy to just swap out your high beam rely with a DRL one! My car has the standard high beam rely so I know its not there and I've checked under the dash and didnt see anything either. So.. my question is, where is the DRL module on a e30? Does anyone know? like I said I've searched and found out all 1990 and newer BMW's in Canada had DRL standard and thats about it. Again thanks guys, and sorry if this is a repost:o

Not mine. They don't come on with the key that is. One "notch" on the headlight switch does turn on city lights and foglights, but to me 'driving lights" or DRL's come on with the key.

Why do you want to get rid of them?

What's the big deal with DRL's anyway? There's a DIY in the FAQ/DIY section FWIW.

There was a thread on bcbimmers explaining how to get rid of them. I have not been on the site in ages but thats where I would look

What's the big deal? You might as well have lights on. Although the chances are near nil, those "DRL's" could make you visible to someone some day and save you from being hit.

I been told there is a rely that will just have the high beams on at a very low wattage? I rather have this option than all my lights on! I think to have dash/interior lights, license plate lights, tail lights on is a big waste! I like the DRL idea, I just dont want all me lights on all the time.

I do not think that DRL should have your dash/LP/interior lights on at all, I am not sure on an E30, but, this is not the way DRL have worked on any other vehicle I have ever owned.

also, pro tip, e-brake pulled up one "click" should be enough to turn off the DRL anyhow, and should not have engaged your e-brake.

works on every car I have ever tried it with...also it is a free "mod" lol.

DRL make your bulbs burn out faster. I dont think US has mandatory DRLs do we yet?
