I can see what your saying. Maybe it would flow better with an OBC because the displays, albeit one is bigger, look pretty similar.
I still want one and think it looks great. I like the colour. It looks like it will match the OBC and cluster nicely.

I love this gauge! I wish I wasn't such a noobie and understood what the gauges were telling me, but i due time.

IDK how I feel about the gauge and the euro clock combination. I think maybe if the clock was subbed out for a 13-button, it would look right at home. But that's just my .

PS Get Betty another deck, that deck looks horrible.

          Thanks for the feedback/support everyone.

Good or bad always welcome to feedback, not for everyone but the important thing is that its an option for all.

I agree with the head unit comment, It came with the car and the owner of Betty could care less what unit was in it. He doesnt listen to music, he just wants to hear the engine. He recently brought in his e36 m3 for service and the radio needed code, when asked whats wrong he said "reset a while ago never bothered, who wants to listen to radio when there is a 24v under the hood"...

Are E30 owners really going to pay approaching $700 for a gauge?

I'm not particularly cheap when it comes to E30s and parts (and I understand the effort involved in small run production parts), but that's more than it would cost to convert your car to MegaSquirt!

Not trying to be a downer because I'm still super interested in the gauge, but was hoping more like $350-400.

We arent going to make 1000s of these, we think there is a market. Clearly not for everyone. The higher price range will be for custom set ups.

I dont understand the parallel/comparison with megasquirt? what does an engine management have to do with gauges? Its like saying why would I do a nardi steering wheel if I can do a stromung exhaust?

Check out pricing on "common" VDO gauge set up with senders and install station/point.

This unit is attractive to a large group of owners, stock guys(who want a unique piece), swap guys(want additional data not provided in e30 cluster), track guys(who really push the car), turbo guys, etc. etc.

Totally agree its not as wide demand as an external temp gauge but we are willing to invest in it for the group that wants it.

                I will because
                A) I don't have time to make one on my own
                B) gauges located in the ash tray are useless
                C) I want to keep at least 1 functioning center vent

I was speaking of the general "you" about E30 owners.

I'm still going to pick one up, because I don't want my turbo car covered in crappy gauges everywhere. I love the finished, integrated execution. I think it's great.

                          +1

From the feedback I have received there will be some tweaks to the design to allow this gauge solution to be more plug and play for the customer.

hmmm..this has opened my eyes up to sooo much more...my vents fall down and point to my feet most of the time.
is the vent blocked in the back or does hot/cold air not really matter
m20 is plenty. im simply a drifter.
