I would agree that they are fast and look good but I will never own one because no matter how hard I try I always feel like a douch in a convertable. If the car was a hard top it would be sweet!

My brother has one, they're pretty cool but not as reliable as the e30's. Gearbox bearings crap themselves pretty quick, clonk noises come out of the rear end etc etc. I wouldn't buy one. my 2c.

        I've driven my friend's S2000

once you're up past 6k it's a completely different ballgame. It goes from an easy-peasy buttoned down cruiser to a totally frisky and indulgent backroads monster. One of the best cars of the past few decades for sure.

I hate this thread, I hate this thread, I hate this thread.

This car is seriously like the holy grail of any and all momentum cars. This car demands such a high level of respect on my list and I was actually hesitant to drive one, but when I did, and believe me it wasn't much of a drive, but amazing is all I can say. One day I will own one for sure. I have NEVER, been so intimidated by a car in my life more than this one.

Such a beautiful little car. I love em. If I had the money I would definitely get into one. The best car hondas ever made IMO, well next to the nsx anyways. I love me some NSX. Other than those two beauts I hate hondas.

I'm in love with the motor and shift/clutch feel. The car is so nimble and fun, I just don't know if I could live with one being so impractical.

its some stage 4 clutch. hes actually thinking of using a zf transmission with an adapter plate. last weekend i helped him put in a ford rear end kit. some company made one that bolts rite in. its good for 1000 hp.

Saw a pretty heavily modded S2000 driving around. We were in my dad's M5 so I think the guy in the S2000 was trying to show off. Anyway, he slammed up through 1st 2nd and 3rd and broke his 9in rear tires loose on each shift. Pretty impressive. Not an ugly car either.

I own an AP2, and it's really a blast to drive. Originally it was going to be a fun/weekend car, but I can't help from daily driving it.

Steering: Amazingly quick ratio, and very precise. It doesn't offer much in the feedback department (electric power steering), but it does exactly what you want it to, with minimal effort.

Gearbox: Touted as one of the best feeling shifters of all time, sure you may have to shift a bit to keep the RPMs up, but you'll look forward to heel-toeing, changing gears with the flick of a wrist.
-From a cold start, you'll need to shift slowly for the 1st few minutes, or you can grind 2nd gear. (My transmission fluid is at 48k though, and due for a change. AP2s have better synchros to combat this a bit)

Engine: The engine is bipolar.. lacks torque below 6k, but screams to redline once it gets there. City mpg sucks(19-20ish), but on the highway I get 30+ cruising in 6th. No maintenance required (other than fluids) until after 100k.

LSD: Not made for aggressive clutch-drops, however there are several aftermarket solutions should you want to.

Snap oversteer: I was a bit intimidated pushing it through corners in the beginning, however I've never experienced the infamous "snap oversteer". Power oversteer is very easy to induce if you aren't smooth, but it's easy enough to recover from. With this car, you HAVE to become a better driver, or it can punish you. (00-05 lack TCS of any kind, 06-09 TCS can be completely disabled).

I think having an s2k complements the E30 well. It retains that raw feeling that's really hard to find in newer cars.

So my choice was between an S2K or an s52 swap. I've got no regrets cause my e30 is a blast to drive now but dammit I want an S2000! My 2 cents. :)
