well, about 12 years ago, i used to live in this island community south east of houston. it was kind of like being in key west, but on a much smaller scale.

one day, i was walking through the local Habitat Restore and came across a heavy duty electric wheel chair that didn't work and a pretty darn nice brown leather recliner. i paid about 150 bucks for both and set to work making a mobile reclining chair. i used to get liquored up and drive it around the neighborhood. top speed was probably about 8 mph. unfortunately, we had hurricane Ike pass through in 2008. my beloved wheelchair went under about 3 feet of salt water and that was the end of it.

* healthy engine, pulls strong and idles smoothly
* all original body panels (matching VINs)
* rust-free CA car
* no major accidents
* original M20B25 engine, completely stock w/ Magnaflow muffler
* original 5-speed manual transmission
* 4.10 limited slip differential
* good tires (3/4 tread remaining), correct size 195/65-14
* complete, mostly clean interior

Some of the service performed over the past month:
- new timing belt, water pump & tstat
- new Bosch spark plugs, cap & rotor
- new valve cover gasket
- new exhaust manifold gaskets w/ heat shields
- new fuel filter
- fresh oil & filter change (Castrol 20w50)
- cleaned & re-oiled K&N air filter
- new axles
- new guibo and center support bearing
- fresh differential fluid (Valvoline 75w90 LSD)
- replaced master cylinder, flushed brake fluid
- replaced steering rack w/ new tie rods
- Bilstein HD strut inserts & shocks w/ H&R Sport springs
- alignment
- new battery

Outstanding issues:
- paint is showing its age, clearcoat is deteriorating
- dented front fenders
- cracked dashboard
- drivers sport seat is worn (5/10)
- A/C system needs attention
- differential could use a rebuild (or replace w/ stock 3.73)

I'm a vintage car mechanic and have owned and worked on numerous E30s. This is one of the most solid cars I've gone through, regardless of mileage. I have thoroughly inspected this car and corrected many of the typical E30 issues, as well as performing a full service. Once you have looked at other E30s in this price range, you will especially appreciate this car's originality. This is a healthy E30 that is ready for daily driver duty right away!
