27 grand? wow. I've never seen a factory mtech car with a two tone body. the seller says its original but I have my doubts it came this way? also, he is trying to pass the seats off as Recaro. I was kinda excited when I read that and quickly scrolled down through the pics only to be disappointed by cloth bmw sport seats.lol at the little blurb about being worth more than an m3. maybe an e36 m3.

I know they are going up and mtech cars are a premium, but I think thats a dreamer price....by a lot. maybe take 10k off assuming its original.

Its a repaint in silver. Its basically the twin car to mine, built two weeks before (AE67413). Originally it was Diamanten-Schwarz, like mine is. Cloth seats are original, you can see the mtechnic badge on them. JDM BMW cloth seats are common. Its not a 1991, although that may be the first year it was registered in Japan.


I've seen these in two tone blue with the dark grey trim/body kit, and in the D-Schwarz. From Japan anyways. They'd pop up on kijiji now and then up here in Canada, haven't seen one in some time now.


I agree on price. It looks good, but subtract for the color change for sure. The automatic comes with the sport mode switch which is rare as it gets. Manual would be better but auto shouldn't be a deal breaker in something as rare as a factory mtechnic. I know Alex at Glen Shelly had one and sold it forward to a guy who sold it on for less money than this one, but not substantially less.

It's almost a cross between a European cologne commercial and a dating profile from rural Kazakhstan or somewhere. "Never garaged. Never premium gas."



Also:

Agreed on the earlier model trans-market imports being sexier than the late model trans-market imports. I'm still a sucker for rarity, even if it's a novelty. ("This is one of only twelve 2015 Xs that has the green dials with the white faces on the gauges and the red cross stitching on the reverse of the passenger's vanity mirror," that kind of stuff. I am who I am, I guess.)

And: the weird plastic cladding on the bottoms of those M-techs is just not for me, aesthetically. Their rarity is obviously desirable, however. I still choose aesthetics over rarity, and in my completely non-scientific and subjective view, I'd rather put off one of the grey-skirt M-techs in favor of a Touring or even a domestic E30 M3.

I hold the opinion that a late model import is not nearly as desirable as an early one - there's very little difference on the late models besides a underpowered motor and a different badge (plus everything in kms) that someone would notice. On an early one sure because you get euro metal bumpers/etc. This is just a slow plastic bumper car, without power steering or a radio.

Really clean interior, except for that wonky left rear window activator. Clean engine bay, and the repair manual says the guy knows his E30. Still asking a lot of $$$, but it's nice to see the local market swelling.
