I also have in m toolkit my Wiha bit holder and a set of Wiha bits. My stubby screwdrivers reside there too

I tend to go the boy scout route (i.e. total control freak): In addition to the fully stocked Tool Kit-Large, I've got a 3/8" ratchet with a short rack of sockets and a 3" extension, plus a handful of other items in a small tool roll. I also carry a quart of oil and a gallon of 50/50 coolant mix, plus a flashlight, duct tape (of course), electrical tape, jumper cables, a pair of work gloves and some hand cleaner and shop rags, and I've got an extra low-beam bulb, main and fuel relays and a handful of fuses. Elsewhere in the trunk, I'm set up with the factory first-aid kit and emergency warning triangle packed in the battery cover compartment and have that nifty little BMW gas can secured under the original 14" spare. Finally, I carry a simple three-inch blade folding knife in the glove compartment.

When I had my e30 I would always have coolant, and a basic tool kit.

In my e36 I only have the tools needed to put my spare on.

At times, I consider the people in my back seat to be tools.

No tools, no spare. AAA or die. If I do a road trip, I grab some basic stuff, but hardly nothing.

              Closing SOON!

Road Trip, belts, old rad hoses( E30's got some weird hoses), main relay, fuel pump and relay, FPR, can of air, it does work, I like one full tool box. I learned the hard way having tools and no parts. Well Sir, we can get the water pump overnighted and installed tomorrow for $550, is that what you want to do? We don't have BMW's arround here. There's a dealer about 250 miles on west if you can find a tow.
