The cheese ball electric ones from HF are not that bad in limited use. I would not recommend them to a mechanic though.

I have had crank pulley bolts that resisted the torch and my 1k lb IR air impact. There are bolts that just don't want to let go.
I stand by my no HF electric rule.

2000 in-lbs is over 160 ft-lbsigpic

LOL @ cheap electric impact.
if you dont have air and must use an electric spend some cash on it. it will be worth it in the long run. check warranty also.
did u try wd40 to help u out a bit? i would stick with the hand tools and breaker bar on this guibo job.
way to fuck up a torque wrench by bouncing on it btw.

Used PB Blaster. PB > WD40. Literally don't think the bolts are coming out with hand tools. Spent over 6 hours trying various methods and didn't get one bolt out.
Why would I spend $400+ on air/impact wrench when I am probably not going to even use it that much/doing work in a apartment parking lot?

Do you think how fucked up it is has anything to do with it?

LMFAO! wow. what the hell happened there. id rent the impact if you arent going to be doing this stuff a lot. is there a pepboys near you? usually the rental is free they just make u pay a core price and u get ur money back after u return it within the specified time. otherwise you end up owning it.

Called the autoparts stores in the area, none of them had impacts for rent. Found one place near by that rents, but for $30.
Just figured if I rent for $30 and I can buy one for 49.99 if I only get 2 uses out of it was worth the money. Which is what I originally asked... Should I rent or buy a shitty one.

I didn't ask about ALL impact guns. I asked if I should rent a good one or buy a shitty one. There is a difference. Maybe if you could read you would understand.
Either rent one for $30 (non refundable) or buy a cheap one 49.99 and if I only get two uses out of it, it was worth the money.
If it does not work I just return it because HF has hassle free returns. What a freaking concept.

If you had a clue that would be done but hell if you had a clue it never would have gotten that bad.
You can do it incorrectly multiple times and spend 10X as much or right once.
When you ask questions on the net you need to be prepared for responses you don't want.
Torque wrenches are for tightening to the proper torque. THEY ARE NOT BREAKER BARS.

Wasn't my torque wrench, my friend (who owned the torque wrench) is the one who's idea it was to use it. But as I stated before, the torque wrench still works fine. Also, it has a lifetime warranty so who cares if it breaks.....
How am I spending 10x as much if I return it if it does not work?! Your intelligence amazes me.
