I always recommend OEM to my customers. Most of the time (obviously there are some exceptions), if the aftermarket part was better then the factory would be using them. IMHO

I usually run Bosch filters myself. But every now and again if the funds are available I spring for the K&N Gold series. I mean, they gotta know what they are doing right...? lol
A magnetic drain plug is a good thing to have too.

K&N filters arent too good considering their price.

I say purolator. The important thing is the pressure valve in the filter well for an M20. I have had a shop change my oil while in vacation and the car kncoked when I started it because of some cheap o brand. I like the Mann filters as well as I have cut them open too.
Purolator I believe was the first to make spin on filters. They make Fords filters for all their cars.

The man pressure release valve is set to 2.5 bar. Or 36psi
