        Of course the yellow bushing is gonna separate when used with one stock bushing. It's going to be taking much more vibration and power transfer. The first one wasn't your fault but the second one definitely was.

          I'm not sure what skifree is referring to but our motor mounts don't break. Last year we designed an internal structure that has proven itself to be indestructible over and over again.

              screw that. just bolt the motor mount arm directly to the subframe!
              AWD > RWD

                Ive heard of the green ones separating also. That said I have 40k hard miles on my 02 yellow mounts and they are fine. I think I got some of the early batch?

                  You do realize that with a bolt through mount that the stress of engine vibration would be transferred solely through the bolt effectively making it a very skinny solid mount. The reason it is not a bolt through design is so the urethane can dampen/dissipate the vibration before it hits the frame (this is the same theory applied to the stock rubber mounts, just less dampening. ).
                  Should I go get the 6 pairs of poly mounts that I have changed this year that have all had this problem?

                  Bolt through for a race car, OEM for street cars.

                    one of my yellow IE tranny mounts broke... Can't say I am too upset: 2 cars, 6 years and over 200k miles. It did so much more, then I could ever expect.

                        That certainly is alot of mounts to go through, but to me that would point that something else may be the main reason for the failure (which I unfortunately cannot diagnose from a computer.).


                        BLUNT - Out of the 200 or so sets of the green mounts that are currently on cars there has just been the one failure from the guy on FAQ boards, I never got a call or email back from him to see what else might have been an issue. If you are aware of any other green mount failures PLEASE PM/call me.

                            yeah i got the yellow ones on my 2002 also. i've had them for 5 years already and never had a problem. def hit up Jeff, he's a good guy.

                                Well I got my new mount in the mail, and to my surprise, free of charge. I was totally expecting to pay for the second but it arrived with no charge on the receipt and a nice little note written on the back of a sweet IE sticker from andrew.
