S14 on CL. Do these go for this much?

Listed at $5k plus it needs "refreshing". I know M3's are somewhat rare but is an engine in need of some work still go for that much?

No. That sounds like the proverbial $2500 S14.

But, people's definition of "refreshing" differs.

yes those things cost a lot. you can get them in the <4k's but they are pretty rare, compared to the cheap m20.

If you got money S14s can rev up 8-10K. That's insane...

A properly done complete rebuild is about 10K, not for the feint of heart.

I take it that's why so many go the S50 route. Similar power for 1/4 the cost? There is something strangely fun about a high strung powerful N/A 4cyl though.

5K for a tired S14 is crazy. $2-2.5K sounds more reasonable. Never hurts to try right?

I think polak is selling his rebuilt motor for around that much

Ever driven a corolla or mr2 with the 4age? Feels crazy revving to 8k plus on a stock motor.

                        i laugh at 8k.

9500rpm is where it's at. even the s2000 revs to 8750.

                            $2k would be fair.
