Who Has The Highest Mileage E30?

I just did an AutoCheck on an E30 and found out that the last reported mileage was 305,638 miles reported in 07/08/1999. Assuming the average of 12K miles annually, this car should have approximately 437,638 miles on its chassis.

hmmmm but what if it sat in a garage for a really long time?

" WHY DO YOU NEED 300HP TO DO THE SPEED LIMIT?"

My carfax lasts states a mileage of 131,xxx in 2001. The owner who bought my E30 at that time, drove from San Antonio, TX to Corpus Christi, TX everyday, 5 times a week, for supposedly 5 years till his son took it to college. That last part wasn't very friendly to my E30.

Any way back on topic, that's roughly 336k in those 5 years in addition to the 131k before he bought it. So 467k in total. I've put 15k since I got it before I pulled the engine.

Now tearing into that M42 I can see it was rebuilt at least once. It still has crosshatching in the block! However everything else on the E30 is craptastic. Brakes are bad, suspension is blown, every bushing needs to be replaced, and the paint has seen better days, but the M-Tech is still all intact so I can't complain. :)

my white Eta had 298K on the original engine (just replaced a headgasket) and trans when I sold it. current cabbie has 143K on the body, and will have a 128k engine in it. they can last forever, or they can die an early death, depends on the care and feeding of the damn thing....

my odo died around 243k....but since my odo died ive been a road warrior so im guesstimating about 300-320k

Im planning on major engine maintenance, replacing things and cleaning it. then drive till it dies and do a swap. 8)

That is damn impressive. e30 had a broken odo at 173k, and was broken for the entire p/o time with it, possibly longer than that. e36 has 181k on it.
