a mere 235k here. Odo gears are still fine. I think later ones may have been a different kind of plastic than earlier ones.
See, I didn't know that! :D Got 288k on mine, ODO still working. Had a valve job on it right before I bought it 5 years/50k miles ago. So that should take care of any head gasket issues. Now I don't feel so bad spending $300 to refresh the suspension.

I was thinking the same thing, what are you replacing? $300 will buy you a set of springs.

Also, we should have a lowest mileage E30 thread.

lol its always exciting to pull a VIN on something, and someone said it was advertised with like 100k or so miles, only to see red marks all over the check and last report was over 200k miles like 5-9 years ago.
I can run Auto Checks on VINs for tips/donations:
PM me VIN(s) and I'll get you ALL the public recorded info that I have available.

you start feeling bad when you spend about $2500 on suspension, and even then you just take it like a man.

If lucky, the E36 will die peacefully, in its natural habitat, and be given the prestigious honor of donating its parts to an E30
