Installed my shift console upside down while running on 4 hours of sleep. Tee hee. I'm sure there is more I don't remember at the moment.

First time pulling the transmission out of the e30
-outside in the pouring down rain
-lifted up on one jack stand... in the gravel
-used a newspaper recycling crate to catch the transmission as it fell out
Got beyond frustrated during this entire process because my back had permanent imprints of gravel on it, also getting frustrated because of lack of tools. Yelled and said that i was not touching this car ever again.
the next day.. I did the exact same thing in reverse (this includes the use of the recycling crate)

I installed my thermostat backwards and when I tightened the housing down, it cracked. It was late, I was sort of drunk...I'm an idiot.91 318is M50 swapped

Not an e30 but on my e34 I've done so many stupid things.
Tranny pan was sticking on the gasket when I was changing the fluid, pried it loose and it popped off only on one side, dumping nasty tranny fluid in my hair and down my shirt. It was also pouring rain.
Various not-fully-tightened lug bolt test drives (just around my old neighborhood <30mph but still). Once I bought lemonade from some kids on the street and rolled away with the front wheels clunking like crazy before I realized what I did. Needless to say they were all staring at me.
I had the worst time trying to change a sway bar link when I realized that it's well-nigh impossible with the car only jacked up on one side.
Drove the car off the jack once (again, jacked up only on one corner because I was lazy)
Hood has fallen on my head/back countless times.
On my old m30 car I installed the head with the timing 180 degrees off.
I was welding an exhaust once and for some reason I grabbed a part about 2 inches from the weld to move it like 20 seconds post welding. Luckily I was wearing gloves but it melted them almost through.Originally posted by LJ851I programmed my oven to turn off when my pizza was done, should i start a build thread?

After replacing my sunroof motor I was reattaching my rearview mirror (it had popped off). It wasn't going back in easily so I decided to just force it, forgetting that it has a dampener on the back. Definitely broke my windshield, which was original to the car with the break-in instructions still on it.88 325is - S52 powered

Non E30 related. On my SVT Focus I had for awhile, I was installing a switch to turn the amp on independently as it was draining my battery. For some reason neglected to disconnect the battery. The lead from the battery to the switch slipped out of my hand and grounded it's self on the chassis which immediately melted the casing and started burning into my carpet. I scrambled to get the wire disconnected from the battery and in the process burnt the shit out of my fingers grabbing red hot wire. My car smelled like melted wire for months and it burned a line in my carpet from the console to the firewall. It was one of the dumbest things I've done but I learned to: 1) always disconnect the battery 2) put a fuse on anything coming off the battery. I was young and dumb.91 318is M50 swapped

LMAO I did this exact same thing and started a fire. Had the gas not have been watered down and sitting for years I would have burned down my moms house.
