no, not once, not ever. it's just stupid and pointless. like drifting. ;)

but doing a burn out is different than dropping the clutch and launching hard. I do that sometimes (but rarely).

The way I see it, burnouts are a way of stress testing the drivetrain. How else will you know if your guibo needs to be replaced? :)

Seriously though, when I bought the 318is that I pulled the engine out of for my MG, I beat the SHIT out of it first for a month to make sure nothing was going to go wrong after I pulled the engine. Several times I sidestepped the clutch at 6000 rpm. No problems what so ever.

Plus chicks think it's cool. ;)

The first thing I did after swapping the eta for an i was a burn out, but I also wanted to test out the 4.10

Hhmmm... My wife giggled like a schoolgirl in my 3.7 liter M30 E30 and you couldn't help but be sideways with a trail of smoke behind. And that was roll-on in 2nd with a 3.25 diff!

              I guess i got a good one.

No burnouts here. I find them completely pointless, waste of rubber.

That's because IX's don't do burnouts. ;) They just launch like a bat outta hell!

I'm sure I could on the snow tires. not on R-comps though.

"burnouts" are pointless wastes of time, gas, and rubber. Launching hard, drifting, and power sides are all fun exercises in automotive hooliganism.

Even if this thread doesn't make Stupidest Thread of the Year, it will at least get a Honorable Mention.

Right, because burnouts blow out diffs, driveshafts and clutches on a regular basis. Shifting hard to 2nd is about as stressful on the clutch and trans as dumping the clutch in first (possibly more so), and if you have ever gotten wheelhop thats about ten times as stressful as a burnout.

so you claim "burnouts" as pointless but then in the next sentence claim drifting and power slides are fun and such...? stupid.

burnouts in drag racing are needed depending on the compound. name a single time a "drift" or "power slide" are needed on the street? maybe dirt but if you consider burnouts pointless then that makes power sliding automotive ballet and fruity.

personally i enjoy doing all of it lol.

He. I am on crappy all seasons right not. In the rain If I rev it to about 3k and then go it spins the tires about 3 times and goes. It is very violent.
