as soon as the coupe gets its exhaust fixed, it'll be a toss up between the two e30s for the daily though.sigpic

Yep, at least during the summer. I guess the caveat is that I also ride my Suzuki pretty regularly, and I've got a winter beater...does that still count as a daily?Comment

Yup, mine got me to Cali and back. Trunk, back seat, and passenger seat packed to the gills. Will probably be taking it back out west before long. I'm determined to make this car go 1 million miles, and see all 4 corners of the country.'87 325i "Chewey" (RIP, my beloved)

If it's the car you drive when your not riding, or in your winter beater, I would qualify that as a DD yes.
DD's can be only summer cars. They're just not your winter beater.Comment

nope DD in summer is BMW R100GS/PD 48mpg (320 miles between fill-ups)
fall winter with no snow 89 pontiac lemans (basically an Opel Kadette E 1.6L TBI FWD) 35mpg,ugly ,cheap insurance easy to drive and gets the job done and don't care if it gets hit as every time i fill the gas tank it doubles its value!
but when it snows or long trips the IX is it at 22mpg
camping trips its the 93 Trooper at 16 mpg ugh!Angus

At some point in your life/career, you will want or need a car that is not fuh raze. A buddy of mine has a Celica done very tastefully (decent wheels, suspension, supercharger, etc., basically OEM+) but recently got a promotion. He now frequently has to travel to other locations, and often take another professional with him (usually older). He hates having to subject other people to a low, loud, somewhat rough car, and it just isn't what is generally perceived as "adult" or "professional".
Don't get me wrong, we're all here because we love e30s, and most of them on here are pretty highly modified, but for most people at some point a car like that doesn't work as a DD.
Edit: And no, I obviously don't DD my e3088 325is - S52 powered
