I could buy a GTR - but I'm too responsible (read: chicken). If I could sell my house I wouldn't buy a car at all, Id like a house upgrade. 5.0 is bang for buck cheap fun :)

My wife does not see me in one though - she wants me to just swap a big motor in the 318is, I feel bad taking the perfectly running heart out of my 318 with out 110k miles on it though.

I'm so tired of all the bullshit in this thread. Mustangs are redneck cars... they only go in straight lines... buy a real car... wreck it. The new 5.0 Mustang is a fantastic car.

I really like the 135i, they are awesome little cars, but if this was my desision, I would take the mustang any day. I don't think you can get more car for the money anywhere.

It all comes down to personal preference and what you enjoy most, and what you are willing to pay for.

I don't like ford (personal preference) and there was no Rob option, so I voted 135...

Lol at the ignorance in this thread. Go for the 5.0. You can't beat it for the price. You will have tons of fun with it. Grabber blue

Total r3v right here. How fast each one is isn't such a big deal.

How about build quality? There's a reason why mustangs are cheap.
How about depreciation? It's a new mustang and will lose quite a bit of value, certainly more than a 135.
Lastly and most important (I think), can you see yourself driving it?
Personally I would rather drive an e46 m3, just because it looks better (my opinion).

The fit and finish and overall craftsmanship is no where near BMW quality but they have come a long way.

                    I voted for the Ford.

I would go the 135i simply because of the size, here in AUS carparks are not that big so a smaller car is easier to park and less likely to get a door smashed into it.

But I have never liked big cars anyways.

Go drive both of them a lot. Only you can decide. Both are great cars... not sure which I would choose.

Are you trying to buy it just because it is a good deal or do you actually want one of those cars?

I've driven a couple of the new mustangs. There are many differentiations of the new style that make it better than the last - particularly the build quality and the driver position/ergonomics (have you ever driven a mid 90's stang? I cannot stand the seat position). If you are 99% on the mustang and you have 26K to spend, you might want to consider looking at a preowned GT500. It's not necessary, but the superb handling, coupled with the extra power from the supercharger is amazing.

it impresses me how many people say mustang, i mean with all respect to mustang etc, but it is still poor engineering overall and not even close to what BMW does.

                                135 all the way.
