lulz. Yeah these are ideal for 15x8s. Mine were under $400 shipped to my door ;)

Apparently these guys (onlinetires.com) buy them by the hundreds and sell them for stupid cheap. I called and asked how long the deal would last and they said at least until the new years, but nothing's guaranteed after that. So get 'em while you can fellas. :p

P.S. they may last a little longer than you think for street driving. But do NOT expect them to last long compared to regular street tires.

I'm very familiar with 888's from a track and spec e30 standpoint. I've tracked them in the hot/dry as well as chilly and damp. but I just don't know if it would be responsible to have them on the street. For that price, and if it were summertime, shit yes I'd daily those. But in the middle of winter, I just don't know.

would you guys say this is a good tire to DD in california weather?
If you're going to daily drive on R-compounds, Toyos are still your best choice. I know a ton of guys who run RA1's on their 2002tii and E30 street cars, even as far north as Quebec.

I've been running R888's on my E30 on the street here in NJ for the last few months. Even in rain and with temperatures dipping into the 30's, they're still fine. They don't do great in deep water, but that shouldn't be a major issue for you in southern California. I really wouldn't worry about it.

As for tire life, they're not going to last as long as a true street tire. But for $80 a corner, you can afford to replace them in 8-10k miles and still come out even.

Bottom line: I would have no hesitation running these on a daily driver in SoCal.

Obviously you'd never run them in the winter in Oregon. But in dry, hot, and sunny SoCal they'll be just fine.

Like all R-comps, they're going to give you a harsher ride and make more noise than regular street tires. But most people driving modded E30's won't mind.

I was thinking the same thing. I wonder, how long is the sale is going on for?

Problem with running R comps on the street is they get heat cycled so many times they turn rock hard.

I have a set of these on my 15x7 BBSs. Use them strictly for the track and autocross, and I fucking love the shit out of them. About to buy some more :)

Anything in the proper wheel size(16") is not really a savings lol. Thanks for the link though, I am getting my BFG KDW2 from there. 16.00 cheaper form them!

Nonsense. mine lasted 3 summers (granted I ran them nearly to the chords, but they're R-comps - you're supposed to). also, they were just fine in the rain - I live in Washington. As Emre says they even seem okay at lower temps. They will be noisier and harsher than street tires.

the only issue with DDing them, is they will heat cycle out faster. basically they will just get hard over time. But not a big deal, really, they'll still stick well until the very end. It's not like you'd take the same tires to a track, and try to win a cash prize in a wheel to wheel race with them. They didn't really get *that* hard in my experience, either.

you'd be an idiot to drive on them in the winter, unless you live in the south.

i really don't know shit about tires except for sizing.
i need a good DD tire that will last a good length of time, but still provide a good amount of performance.
some people have told me to go with falken azenis but i really have no idea.
I'd be willing to bet these will outperform the falken's in every category, including streetability, treadwear, and wet traction.

not true at all, they work great as a summer tire, especially at $80 a peice..
