Not sure if foul play was involved or not after reading all this. Perhaps just poor management or judgement. Either way way Josh who started out with the best intentions, is now being punished for his mistakes. Really sucks when you try do something good for a indivisual, and end up comming out as the goat. He stepped up to help a fellow forum member, who he may have never even met in person, and I think in his haste to help, did not plan accordingly. Mistakes in life are rarely free and its a good lesson for everyone, not least of which is Josh. I have no doubt he will step up to the plate and make things right. If it is an honest mistake I feel for him, and hopefully his wife is understanding about it. I know mine would not be happy, as something like this effects an entire household. I think if it were revealed sooner it would have helped to alleviate the cloud of suspicion, and without questioning from the communtiy, which really is the biggest mistake. Money can be replenished more easly than reputations. I really think this thread has been exhausted at this point, and ought to be locked by the mods until their is a worthy update, as all it has become is a witchhunt at this point.

i was a lurker when all that shit with Vlad went down and i remember it even getting onto jalopnik. i feel for Yan and Vlad is a shit head. even though Josh didnt tell us right away what happened to the funds, he still told us and didnt run away like a little bitch, like some of the for sale section scammers we have had (heated seat insert guy is at the top of my head) if he outright stole it, he would not be here, period. he handled it wrong. ive been in a similar situation you feel like shit, and wish you could snap your fingers and fix it, i hate to see us all bashing on him, when he is working on fixing it. he has been here,probably 4x as long and some of you guys hating on him right now.

Yes it should have been handled differently form the get go, or at the very least come out much sooner than this.

All this said Josh has been good to this community and a integral part of it for as long as I have been here (since this place had less than 4500 members) . Lets not forget that and let him fix his tarnished name in a manner of his choice. He is an adult and has many means at his disposal to rectify the situation let him do it the way that best fits his situation.

This kind of shit and it's stigma, along with those phony ass wtb/fs threads make me feel really sad and sickened that fellow 30 owners would do this to one another. I feel like all of us have a special understanding, respect, and bond through the ownership, experiences, passion for, and education of these cars. Why can't we show it? The fuck is going on? I have reason to believe op because bumping this three year old thread with a plausable story of tragedy that certainly could hold water... well, it seems legit to me. why bring it back into the spotlight and potentially expose himself (not saying he did it) when everyone bascally forgot about this fund? doesn't add up. we live in a really shitty world, and it wouldnt suprise me if some cocksucker hacked the account and stole the money. For a 17 year old growing up today, I don't know everything about computers and paypal stuff, but I see how it could happen. so, situation is a little sketchy, yes, but you see my point?
