I hope this isn't the case.

Have we verified that Yan did in fact receive the fundraiser money to get his car repainted?

None of this is making any sense.
A proper repaint on an E30 M3 is $10k+. Materials alone are $3k.
Yan would need more than that due to the errors and issues caused by Vlad's work... the prep work to "repair" the damage on Yan's car is far greater...
Given that Yan is in the service, and I'm pretty sure we don't pay our troops at the same rate our politicians get paid, I doubt he just had an extra $8k lying around to throw at getting the car repainted... again.

If he had, I suspect it would have been painted by a different shop than Vlad's in the first place.

PS: Yan's car was here are VSR before it was repainted for mechanical work. So I've seen the car in person, prior to the respray ordeal. I'm not just Internet-Hypothesizing from photos.

YAN, did the car get repainted the same color? To me it looked Imola before - what color is it now? Is it still on CHs? Did you put the Dekra number plates back on?

Like most folks here, you and your car are inspirational to me...

And he DID make it to Jalopnik.

Wowed by sparkling blue paint and a pair of shapely legs protruding from a short skirt (the stack of trophies, not so much), I fell hook line and sinker for this BMW E30 M3 touring custom that showed up on eBay a few weeks ago.

Really? No one knows anything? This is one of r3v's greatest fundraising stories and there isn't even an ending?

Mr. Janderson, do you have an update on this thread? I know it's been years, but if anyone knows the fairytale ending to this story, it must be you.

You know, I was thinking about Yan and his car earlier today. I actually helped build his motor sometime in 2008ish (maybe 2009?) with Ryan G up in Auburn, California.

I vaguely remember his Vladtastic voyage and was curious if he ever posted photos of the repaint with the help of R3v's charity money? If so, can someone direct me to his thread?

Yan, post pictures man! I always loved your car. It's had a special place in my heart for the longest time. I want to see what R3v was able to help you accomplish!

You guys are awesome for putting together ~$2000 to get this car squared up.
