    im at a crossroads! opinions

so i traded my last vert that had an m502 swap for this 92 318 vert in an AWESOME maritsaublau(dark blue). interior is easily a 8.5/10, and thats simply from the drivers seat having normal wear.
i had a collection of parts i had been hording that i swapped onto this vert, euro smoked/cross hair HID smilies, momo wheel, euro weaves ect

    suspension is damn comfy too!

but there are a few drawbacks, it is a 318! so its slow as fuck. also it has pretty bad rust on the driver rocker under the trim, got a quote to fix it for 500 including paint, so not that much i guess.

but this is why i am making the thread.. i've been trying to sell this car so i can get a coupe to build and turbo, but in the back of my head i sort of want to keep this vert, knowing in summer i'll love cruising with the top down...

    so my thought is to;
    A) swap a m20 in it and call it a day
    B) build the motor i've been wanting to build (2.7i new everything, o-ringed, headstuds) and boost that to the max
    C) sr20det?
    D)fuck it, sell it

    whats r3v think?

find another vert with an m20, and boost that one. seems like your gonna go through a lot of trouble swapping an m20. or you can find a cheap 325 coupe and build that up if thats an option.

Personally I love my vert and wouldn't give it up for anything. Its right next to wife and kids on the importance spectrum. :)

During the 2 times I was searching for a vert I saw maritsaublau once! Keep it. Just do a 24v swap keep it NA. If you really want to boost to the max buy a coupe. Whenever I see a guy build a crazy vert, I always think to myself that car would have been better it it weighed less and had a stiffer chassis to be begin with. Verts are for spirited summer driving at most, not AutoX and track days. Just my .02

Edit: rust can be be very scary though, both of mine were/are 100% rust free from area's where it doesn't snow.
I want a nice set of smoked MHW's (I know, get it line)

I would second this, if you are gonna do a motor swap, do the 24v. pain in the ass factor is the same, and you have a better car in the end to either love or sell.

I'm not a fan of verts.
I think it comes down to weither you really want a vert or not - which is more important than the engine - you can swap engines in any e30, but you can't change a vert to a non-vert or vice versa.

I would maybe feel differently if i didnt live in this frozen hellhole. If i lived in Arizona youd likely see me cruising top down in a bathrobe with Lukas riding shotgun

and no way im going 24v again!

if i sold it, id be buying a coupe and building the m20 and turbo to drop in that.

but DAMN, this thing with that kinda power, would definately surprise people

I would def keep it dude, that is a nice looking car :)
And I would probably keep the m20 and boost it if you want speed. Doing a crazy build would take away from the car with the problems etc and worrying abot issues.
If you keep this car, I think you'd be happier with it being a nice ride and reliable with a lil more pep but not a crazy build with all the downfalls ( bad idle, possibility of breaking down etc)
