I'm a Vettel fan through and through, he's no Senna. There are similarities in driving skill/driving style, but he doesn't have the ruthlessness nor the tenacity of Senna. Hell, one could argue someone like Grosjean or Maldonado posess a similar level of batshitedness, lol.
The points being brought up earlier about his ego being the motivation to go purple on Sundays seem questionable; I don't think he's going risk the team's effort, his effort, and the car all to go purple during the race. I think he has respect for his team and the crew who have arguably won races for him in the past. I could see someone like Hamilton having an ego complex issue (not to mention a lack of respect for his current team) enough so to risk everything to go for something as trivial as having the fastest lap of the session. I see what is being said about Vettel's lead and it being unnecessary to push the car harder and harder, but I don't think his ego has him so fixated on breaking records that he'll throw caution in the wind and his car into the armco.- Trey

i dunno, grosjean and maldonado (while talented) seem to lack awareness of what goes on around them, like they can only process a couple of things at a time. i've seen them race wheel to wheel very well, when there's just one or two cars around them, but their shunts normally seem to happen in lap 1 when they're surrounded by cars.

How about points for qualifying?
And a sprinkler system.

To make f1 more entertaining, the grid needs a systematic shuffling:
For every 33 championship points scored, racer is excluded from one grid spot.
198 scored means 7th is best possible start position.

Nice choice of words...
Great race, this is usually the most dull race in the line up. Kimis radio messages were the icing on the cake... only if Alonso had taken 1st.
If it was not for the safety cars and mass drops out Vettel would have finished 6 or 7 and Alonso 3rd.

I'm really anxious to see if in a few years, if Vettel does go to a new team (the last rumor was Ferrari), how he does in a different manufacturer's car, with a new engineer. Clearly, Adrian Newey is some kind of aerodynamic wizard, and I know Vettel is really a very talented driver, so I'm curious to see how well he drives a different car.

As much as I don't want to accept it, Vettel is on par with Alonso........if it was just the car........Webber can qualify within .1-.2 of Vettel........yet Vettel starts from pit lane and ends up on the podium?
Webber has always been my favorite and he is a great driver, but Vettel is just insane.Need parts now? Need them cheap? steve@blunttech.com
