Its largely luck too. I could get pulled over for simply being a kid and not having a front plate. I have a friend who hits triple digits every damn time he gets in his s500 coupe and has never gotten a ticket in like a year of driving.

I think that's going a little far on sacrificing looks for legality. It's like a $10 ticket that i'm highly unlikely to get, it was just an example. My red corner tails are also technically illegal, but you gotta draw the line somewhere.

And yes I swear this kids gonna get arrested some day. Last time I was in the car with him we were at like 120 on the highway, then hit 100 in a 50 until there was a red light around a corner and we almost died.

like how he said he drives about 55mph for the MPG. i'd rather float along at 65/70 at just about the same RPM's and achieve better or similar MPG.

I think he has a ZF trans.. so no overdrive. it would be like driving an eta with a 4.10.

it really makes little difference 3.73 vs 4.10 for gas mileage. the 4.10 actually puts you right in the peak torque/efficiency range of the engine at 75mph. the difference in fuel economy from 45-75 is pretty negligeable.

as far as tickets - nobody notices a silver 4-door on bottelcaps. :p

I know it won't get you pulled over, but does anyone actually know if its illegal in california? I looked for the paint at O'Reilly's and told the guy what it was for and he gave me a speech about how "amber is the only legal color in california" and that i'll get pulled over and ticketed. I honestly wanted to ask if he was fucking retarded.
