    Fuck me.

Can someone give me a google map to the intersection and from what direction the car came from. I work as a civil designer and my job is to make sure intersections are safe for this reason.

I don't have USA road design standards but I can give an over view of weather that intersection is safe according to Australian standards. That may give you more reason to get a second opinion from a Civil engineer in the USA.

As most of you will know intersection require a minimum sight distance depending on the speed limit. If that is not meet then you have the right to seek compensation from the local government, or national depending on the road and who it comes under.

Ok so I found it on google maps. Yeh it is a bit of a shit intersection, but.

There is about 80m before you see a car come over that crest Under standard 35mph speed limit, for Australian standards you need a minimum sight distance of 64m, so I would say that intersection comes with in design standards.

But if you can prove that the guy was going 65mph then you need a minimum sight distance of 141m which is way beyond the 80m you can see. Therefore the crash would be his fault.

This is just a quick review using Australian standards, I would recommend getting an Civil engineer from your area to do a review, and write a report, will cost you a few hundred dollars but will help a lot in your case if the other car was speeding.

no loss of life is always good, the guy that hit us died (no seatbelt, airbag broke his neck/back).

you will get another e30, and the dream will live on.

[quote=ErickE30;2985738]I didn't have collision on my car so I do feel like the insurance company is not fighting much. I may have to get a lawyer... That's just bad news all around.

you may have to sue the guy to get anything. His insurance should make you whole but the value of your car will be the bone of contention. I had quite a bit of documentation on mine and the insurance still only wanted to give me a small amount. Since you did not have collision, your company has no dog in the hunt. Washington state law on this is a bit confusing. A lawyer might be beneficial. You might ever try small claims court.

Really really does suck, I got T-Boned by a Honda Accord when I first started driving. It was technically my fault, I thought I had enough time, but the speed limit was 25, he must of been going twice that, I couldn't judge it correctly and made the turn.

As long as were on the subject of annihilated BMWs, Ill share a picture of my friends E34. Combination of Way too fast/ Drunk( Three times over legal limit)/ Zanex/ girl Problems= Sideways into a tree at 70 MPH

                He WALKED AWAY from that.

Bought another E34, Got Drunk, hit another wall at 80 MPH. Finally got arrested . Havnt talked to him since.

The lucky dude who was in this car also walked away, albeit with a couple of broken ribs.

I'm sorry to hear about you loosing your car but I'm glad you are ok!

Your car is at pick and pull on 96th and steel street Tacoma. We've walked by it several times, looks like you really cared for it with the parts I noticed that it had. Hopefully you decide to get another E30.

I have both rear bumper shocks, throttle cable bracket, and a turn signal lenses off of that car!

Certainly a wreck to be happy to walk away from
