She gave her life for me...I walked away

First off I was totally OK... I walked away somehow with an unbelievably little amount of damage. My upper back hurts a little bit (previous injury flaring up) but other than that it was a bruise on the knee and I walked away without going to the hospital.

What happened was me driving up Lake Hills Connector in Bellevue and turning left onto SE 8th st. It was 7:00PM at night and it was pouring rain and there was snow on the ground. I had a flashing yellow yield and saw no one coming. I was taking the left and BAM. It was done.

I don't really know how it happened at all... No one has been ticketed yet but it is going to be a difficult fight. I just talked to my insurance earlier and they stated that the impact appears to be a 50MPH+ collision. My car slid ~20 feet (two full lanes) from the impact.

Where the car was coming from (by car I mean suburban) was downhill and around a corner before going through the intersection. He did have right of way but if he was going 50mph (35mph speed zone, and look at the pictures... that is NOT a 35mph collision) I would have ~1 second from first view of him to impact. I plan to fight this but it is going to not be fun.

Most important part is I walked away with very very minimal damage. Paramedics were shocked that I was ok.

    Glad to hear you're ok.

Just take it easy for a bit, though, because I suspect you're still in shock and some internal damage has occurred even on the smallest scale. Your brain moved around in your skull and you could have micro damage and a mild concussion. None of what I wrote should be taken alarmingly, just cautionary, to take it easy for a bit and let your body recuperate. It's good to see a doctor, too, even though you feel fine.
Das ist nicht nur nicht richtig, es ist nicht einmal falsch!

Definitely see a chiropractor. From my experience with a really bad concussion (and from what docs consider a concussion, probably a couple more) it's honestly not that big a deal, but stuff like your spine and the muscles around it may never feel right again if they're tweaked a few mm off.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

sucks knowing a hauling suburban resulted the loss of the e30, but more importantly you walked away with only minor injury.

as bad as this is, it does make me feel more positive about being safe in an e30

Got taken away by flatbed afterwards. Sold to a scrapyard in bellevue for 275. I was not where I needed to be mentally to think of parting it out and I feel really shitty about that. There were a couple of keeper parts that I would like to have seen. I do have my IS front spoiler in my storage. I was going to refinish it...but that project is dead. I also have rearview mirror with lights on it and a front right fender that need to go.

PM me if you want to make an offer, otherwise ill put it on craigslist eventually. I live in Lynnwood BTW.

so, did this JUST happen? if the insurance has not settled on it you, you may want to let them know about where the car is incase they need to look at it for the settlement. 100% cover your ass and don't depend on the insurance company to do the right thing. just be sure, is all i am saying.

Now that that's out of the way, crazy crash man. Glad to hear your okay, it looks like things could have been much worse for you though.

I didn't have collision on my car so I do feel like the insurance company is not fighting much. I may have to get a lawyer... That's just bad news all around.

And of course the other guys fucking Suburban was pretty much undamaged. Didn't even break his turn signal lights.

                              RIP another e30.

Glad to hear you walked away from that. Even if you feel fine, get an ambulance to pick you up so insurance takes your ass seriously.
